In recent weeks the BBB has experienced a high volume of inquiries in regards to a classified advertisement offer “Get 1,000 dollars Groceries! Pay only 3.90 its true”! The callers are checking the legitimacy of the offer before providing Credit or Debit card information to the company. The BBB has learned that the company responsible for the offer is Consumer Advocate Research Inc. The company is conducting a marketing campaign for a company named Grocerysavers.com. Grocerysavers.com is an online company which provides a discount coupon clipping service. The company charges annual membership fees and offers numerous discount product coupons for an annual membership fee. The BBB is advising consumers to be cautious, if choosing to take advantage of the offer, be sure to fully understand the terms, as you may be agreeing to an annual membership fee. Additionally retailers generally offer discount coupons at no charge, as an incentive to do business with them. Also, it is safer to use a Credit Card rather than a Debit Card. If you are unhappy with the purchase, credit card companies usually provide additional protections, for such purchases.
